CAPITAL UNIVERSITY REFLECTIONS FOUNTAIN
Traditions Fountain is the symbolic center of campus for Capital University, a private liberal arts university on Bexley, OH. This campus fountain and plaza is a cherished element where gatherings become memories, chance meetings become life-long friendships, and events become traditions. Carefully sited and designed, the fountain is a centerpiece for the campus and flanks a key north-south pedestrian path, making it a part of daily life for nearly everyone. Within the fountain space are benches, cascades, and water jets set in a stone-paved plaza.
The degree to which users interact with the water is entirely by choice; a shallow skim of water traces across the walkable stone pavement, water softly spills from the face of a handful of ledges, and frothy jets emerge from portions of the stone pavement. Day or night, winter or summer, the space is enlivened by sculptural forms, interesting lighting, and lasting materials.
