NORTH BANK PARK
Over the past 100 years, there have been many attempts at revitalizing the downtown riverfront. While improvements were made, none of the attempts were completely successful in connecting the Columbus community with its original lifeline, the Scioto River. After the Scioto Mile opened in July of 2011, the once forgotten and aging area has succeeded in becoming a downtown destination for all walks of life.
The area was characterized by high-speed traffic, a crumbling floodwall, broken sidewalks, and an aging park that failed to attract visitors. The $44 million park was a true public-private partnership. We worked closely with the City, the State, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and American Electric Power as part of the project.
