Our clients include cities, development organizations, higher education, hospitals, transportation agencies, Fortune 500 corporations and select developers. Our projects include planning and design for downtowns, river/waterfronts, neighborhoods, cultural and campus environments. Our Detroit office leads the firm’s transportation planning group that links transportation design with land use thru corridor plans, Complete Streets Design, transit plans, parking studies and form-based codes.
We are seeking a mid-level transportation planner with 5-10 years of experience, preferably some consulting and project management background. Solid to outstanding skills required in innovative problem solving, graphics, writing and meeting facilitation. Wide range of projects including multi-modal corridor plans, downtown and comprehensive plans, parking and TDM studies, TOD and MOD plans and codes, transit master plans, street redesigns and similar plans. Clients include DOT’s, cities, county road agencies, MPO’s, transit agencies. Will work with other planners and landscape architects at MKSK but also with traffic and highway engineers, modelers and others from other firms. A degree in urban planning or related field is required.
Our Detroit office is in the bustling Midtown Detroit along the Woodward Ave Q-Line streetcar. This is a small office so versatility is necessary. Given clients are dispersed throughout Michigan and the region, access to a vehicle, valid drivers license and willingness for some travel is required.
